History

Applied Biotechnology is a start-up company located in Salzburg, Austria. The company was founded in 2003 by Dr. Bauer and Dr. Vlasak. Applied Biotechnology is a spin-off of the former Institute of Molecular Biology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.  Applied Biotechnology started its operations in spring 2004.

Since 2016 Apllied Biotechnology is headed ba Dr. Reinhard Vlasak. He is specialized in Virology and Glycobiology. He was visiting scientist at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg and a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
